A 50-year-old Dallas city parks department
employee isrcrushed to death underneath a loaded
concrete truck in a freakish accident at the
Marsalis Park Zoo. The dead man is identified
as Everett William Thorn. Thorn was working in
a moat under construction at the zoo when the
concrete truck fell nine feet atop him. The
weight of the truck and its load was 10 tons.
Thorn apparently died instantly. Police say the
truck had just backed to the edge of the moat
in preparation for dumping its load.
