Notes

North Texas State University was renamed the University of North Texas on May 15, 1988. Leon Breeden was the director of the university's One O'clock Lab Band from 1959-1981; during this time the group grew to international prominence. Breeden also taught in the Jazz Studies program at the university. The Junior Mary Arden Club was created as an extension of the Mary Arden Club, which was founded in 1902. The group began as a literary group dedicated to Shakespeare and evolved into a way to broaden social opportunities and provide chances for serving campus and community.
