Assistant Dallas district attorney John Meade
works hard during final arguments of a
bawdy house trial; the state laboriously tried
to prove up all 66 indictments during the 11
days of testimony before        County Judge Cox.
On trial is Howard Martin Davis, accused in the
66 indictments of operating a bawdy house at
the New Oxford hotel in downtown Dallas.
ROW OF JURY IN PROFILE.
The ladies and gentlemen of the jury are pretty
tired of the case. But that doesn't deter Meade,
who tells them "I think you had your minds made
up before we got this far." The jury goes out
to deliberate, and reporters figure it's going
to take a long tire; just the judge's charge to
the jury required an hour-and-three-miinutes to
read.
