95-YEAR OLD GROCER TIRED OF ROBBERIES
LONG, STORE
C.E. Momand, who operates this small South Dallas
grocery store, says his philosophy is to accept
circumstances and make the best of them. Momand
has come to accept, but not to like, armed
robberies. He has been robbed five times in the past
six months, three of the robberies in the last 10
days. Momand, who's 95 years old, says the latest
one was this morning when a Negro man came in,
put a kiife to his throat, and demanded that he
get out his money and be quick about it. Momand
says the Negro took him to the cash register
a 14-year-old customer walked in. Momand
says the Negro grabbed something less than 10
dollars and ran. Momand says he's been in business
75 years and was never robbed until the series began
W months ago. He says he' used to keep a gun
around for protection but got rid of rit a few yearsago for fear he'A shoot someone.
