Abstract: This report presents the preliminary results of the geochemical sampling in the Sandpoint 10 X 20 quadrangle of the National Topographic Map Series (NTMS). From July to October 1977, we collected 1700 wet- and dry-stream sediment samples and water samples from rivers and streams from the 16,800-km2 project area. During August and September 1977, we collected 300 groundwater samples from wells and springs. We present laboratory and field analyses for uranium, trace metals, and other constituents in hardcopy and microfiche format. The report includes full-size overlays for use with the Sandpoint NTMS 1:250,000 quadrangle. Water sites, water-sample uranium concentrations, water sample conductivity values sediment sites and sediment-sample uranium and thorium concentrations are shown on separate overlays. We present histograms and cumulative frequency plots of uranium and thorium values for water and sediment samples and describe geology, hydrology, and known uranium occurrences.
