COPTER CRASH 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2
at the Western Hills heliport when the crash
occurred. Witnesses say the craft began spinning
over the 6+-hundred block of Camp Bowie >
Boulevard, that it lost altitude and struck the
boom of a large crane at the site of the
new Pioneer American Insurance Company building,
that it then exploded and fell to the ground in
flames. Bodies of both victims were badly burned,
None of the ground-level bystanders was injured.

One witness to the crash, C. E. Wilkinson, says
the craft began rotating slowly -- then faster ;Mf
faster as it plunged into the crane. Wilkinson
says the craft, in flames, * slid down the
crane's cable to the ground.
