DERAILED TRAIN
LONG, OVERTURNED BOXCARS
At Richardson, north of Dallas, workmen begin clearing the tracks of 15 derailed boxcars, part of a 50-car Texas and New Orleans freight train that jumped its tracks late yesterday. This is the cleanup of the wreckage shown on last night's Texas News. Of the 15 derailed cars, two overturned, causing a cross-track traffic jam. .So far there's no official report of damages although an estimate last night set the loss at 25-thousand dollars. Railroad officials say traffic on the, line resumed tonight.
LONG TANK CAR
The wreck is blamed on this tank car which is 200 yards from the main wreckage. Officials say a hot box burned out a journal on this pair of wheels causing the tankcar to drop from the wheels. The rest of the cars stacked up behind it. (WFC)...On the other wheel, an undamaged journal.
