The Southern Methodist University Mustangs and
the Owls of Rice Institute --both undefeated in
Southwest Conference play -- meet at SMUts Joe
Perkins gymnasium. The score is tied 10 times
and the lead changes hands six times before the
Mustangs come through with the win.

A ACTION (AFTER CROW'DD)

And one of those 10 tie scores comes early in &
game when SMU catches up to an early Rice lead.
SMU in the white -uniforms.  A shot by Guard
Art Barnes makes it two-all.

ACTION (AFTER CROWD)

Rice depends on its two starting guards, Monte
Robicheaux and Bobby Brashear, for a whopping
33 points during the game. Both men are expert in
dropping them in from way out and here Bra shear
does just that to put Rich back in the lead.
