Sixty-three of the girls had fathers who had had four
years of high school work* Of this number, thirty received
help with their hobbies and thirty-three received no help.
Twenty-eight girls had fathers who had had three years of
high school work. Of this number, twenty received help with
their hobbies, while eight did not. Of the five girls whose
fathers had had two years of high school work, one received
help with her hobby, while four had no assistance whatever.
Of the nine girla whose fathers had had one year of high
school work, six received help with their hobbies, while
three did not receive help. Thirty-six girls had fathera
who had had no high school work. Of thia number, twelve had
help with their hobbies, while twenty-four did net receive
help, Of the forty-five girls whose fathers' educational
status was unknown, thirty received help with their hob-
bies, and fifteen received no help.
In every educational status in which girls' fathers
were classified, some of the girls received assistance with
their hobbies, although the souree of this assistance was
not reported to the writer. Although the data aye not
conclusive by any means, they point to a slight correlation
between the educational status of the fathers and the help
their daughters receive in the development of their hobby
interests.
