At the Interstate By-Products Company in Fort
Worth, 49-year-old John Lewis Winter lies trapped
while rescue workers try frantically to free his
left leg from a bone grinder. Winter is given
blood plasma rushed to the scene from
city-county hospital and oxygen from two Shannon
ambulances. Witnesses say Winter slipped on a
