dealer and R. C. Hawkins, a Dallas boat builder
who organized the races. Hawkins says he is
trying to get bicycle racing revived for two
good reasons: because its a good sport and
because Hawkins believes it will help cut down
WINNER (AFTER CROWD SHOT)
Old Champion Boorman challenges Hawkins to a
one-lap race and they're off. Hawkins, who
says he will soon sponsor more bicycle races,
lags behind all the way. Boorman, huffing and
puffing all the way, comes in the winner.
Boorman, out of breath, says just like
30 years ago.
