Description

The author has developed the foundations of a practical multivariate approach to processing magnetotelluric array data. Compared to current standards for magnetotelluric data processing, the multivariate approach is unique in that all available data channels are used simultaneously. The approach is outlined in this report. Using Multmtrn, a program for multiple station analysis of magnetotelluric data, the author achieved significant improvements in apparent resistivity and phase estimates in initial tests. Description
