  • Content Description: Methods to extend the capabilities beyond those available from the current generation synchrotron radiation sources based on undulators in electron storage rings are discussed. Taking advantage of the radiation-particle interaction and/or the availability of high power, ultrashort, optical lasers, it is possible to develop sources with higher brightness, smaller temporal resolution, or higher photon energy.
