Description

Encapsulated vitrified materials (Isotopic Heat Sources) are currently stored in the Pacific Northwest National Laboratories (PNNL) 324 Building located in the 300 Area. As part of the 324 Building transition program, the vitrified material, encapsulated in stainless steel canisters, must be removed. These canisters were originally intended to be used by the German government, but are no longer desired.
