Description

The following is a list of the main components used for production and acceleration of positrons for the 7-GeV Advanced Photon Source. 1. 200 MeV Electron Linac (2.8 GHz. Rep. Rate 60 Hz). 2. Tungsten Positron Production Target. 3. 450-MeV Positron Linac (2.8 GHz Rep. Rate 60 Hz). 4. Energy Spread Suppresser (Debuncher). 5. 450-MeV Positron Accumulator Ring (PAR). 6. 450-MeV to 7-GeV Injector Synchrotron (Rep. Rate 2 Hz). A brief description of the performance of each of these components is presented in this paper.
