Description

This report covers work during the three month period between January 1, 1993 and March 31, 1993. The main goal of this project is to demonstrate the use of ion exchange membranes to separate acid gases, CO{sub 2} and H{sub 2}S, from CH{sub 4} and CO and H{sub 2}. The current task is to obtain preliminary mass transfer and kinetic data for a room temperature H{sub 2}S redox catalyst. This catalyst is proposed as part of a catalytic membrane reactor for removal of H{sub 2}S from gas streams accompanied by direct conversion to polysulfide, a precursor to elemental sulfur.
