Description

In this quarterly report, we discuss the progress that has been made with regard to our research on an experimental method for characterizing the material properties of granular solids. We have proposed to build an orthogonal rheometer which consists of two disks rotating with the same angular speed about distinct axes. By measuring the forces and the torque acting on the top and bottom disks and correlating them with the theoretical expressions for the tractions and moment, we can characterize the properties of the material that is placed between the disks. Description

In this quarterly report, we discuss the progress that has been made with regard to our research on an experimental method for characterizing the material properties of granular solids.
