Description

The new charge transfer salt (BEDT-TTF){sub 2}[N(SO{sub 2}CF{sub 3}){sub 2}] was synthesized and structurally characterized. Its unit cell parameters at 295 K are: a = 6.6394(13) {angstrom}, b = 8.658(2) {angstrom}, c = 17.349(4) {angstrom}, {alpha} = 94.70(2){degree}, {beta} = 97.21(2){degree}, {gamma} = 68.95(2){degree}, V = 922.7(4) {angstrom}{sup 3}, space group P{bar 1}, and Z = 1. The anion, N(SO{sub 2}CF{sub 3}){sub 2}{sup {minus}}, was found to be disordered, which may relate to the absence of the {nu}{sub 4} and {nu}{sub 5} A{sub g} modes of the BEDT-TTF molecule in the Raman spectrum.
