Dear Energy Professional:
The Department of Energy is pleased to reprint the Pennsylvania Life Cycle
Costing Manual. This manual was designed to help companies evaluate their
expenditures by factoring purchase and operating costs over the life of new
equipment. The Pennsylvania State Energy Office originally published this
document and diskette in June 1992. In the summer of 1995 the energy office
was closed and some of their responsibilities were absorbed by other State offices.
The Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Energy Services gave reprinting
rights, for this publication, to the United States Department of Energy, Office of
Industrial Technologies (OIT) which promotes energy-efficiency in industry.
OIT is also working with partners to develop energy-efficient technology focusing
on seven energy-intensive industries; aluminum, chemicals, forest products, glass,
metal casting, refining, and steel.
If you need additional information or assistance, please contact the Department
of Energy Regional Support Office nearest you. These offices can be found by
contacting the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Clearinghouse (EREC)
at 1-800-DOE-EREC. The clearinghouse also maintains a library of free publica-
tions on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and pollution prevention. You can
reach the EREC bulletin board system with a computer modem at 1-800-273-2955.
The bulletin board contains these Lotus worksheet files and portions of this
instruction manual. You may also contact OIT's World Wide Web site on the
Internet at http://www.eren.doe.gov/industry/
