actually attend ten classes, in five meeting days, all de-
voted to the same Literary Part.
It is imperative, of course, that the two classes com-
plement each other in both content and intent; there must
therefore be a mutual understanding of purpose between the
participating teachers. Adjustments in the course can be
made at almost any time, if care is taken to see that the
students are always first introduced to a given piece of
literature in the interpretation class. Because of this
priority in the presentation of material, and because silent
reading must be assigned after the oral performance but be-
fore the creative writing, the two classes, English and in-
terpretation, will follow a staggered schedule. One
semester 's work might be allocated as follows:
