- Content Description: The concept of shift factor was used successfully to develop a model which described the role of solid solution atoms in dispersion strengthened tungsten alloys. This shift factor separates the solid solution strengthening effect of Re in the creep of W-Re-HfC materials. The creep of the alloys is expressed by the modified Lagneborg`s creep model in the following form: {dot {var_epsilon}} = A`(b/G{sup 3}kT)D{sub L}exp({minus} 580000eC{sup 1/2}/T)({sigma} {minus}{sigma}{sub p}){sup 4} (1955 K{le}T{le}2500 K), where D{sub L} is the lattice diffusion coefficient of tungsten.
