CONCLUSIONS
Samples of a Synroc-type waste form with 60% zirconolite have been successfully
prepared by both hot-pressing and by sintering. The combination of use of a binder
together with a hold step to burn the binder out along with adsorbed air and moisture
gives the best result for densification by sintering for alkoxide precursor material.
