Description

We give a description for the production of {sup 13}C foils and the preparation of an approximately 1 mg/cm{sup 2} thick target. A recent experiment to measure the mass of {sup 36}Ca via the {sup 40}Ca({sup 4}He,{sup 8}He){sup 36}Ca reaction at the S800 magnetic spectrometer at MSU, needed a precise determination of the beam energy and calibration of the focal plane of the magnetic spectrometer in order to achieve the most accurate value for the {sup 36}Ca mass.
