Figure 38. Muon shielding, 800 GeV. A comparison of muon momen-
tum spectra calculated using CASIM with measurements made in a large
magnetic spectrometer. The spectrometer had a low-momentum cutoff
of about 10 GeV/c. The muons were produced by an 800 GeV proton
beam striking a dump. Histograms represent different random number
initial values (seeds) for the CASIM calculations. (See Ref. 50.)85
