in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State Center for Tomorrow -
March 14-17. The general topic will be information problems
- what has been solved and future plans. An attempt

1973 fall meeting - Chicago
No definite plans have been made, but suggestions
include trends in evolving literature, the communication of
chemical information to the public, and evaluative and comparative
studies of information services and tools. It was

Mid-West Regional Meetings
It was noted that DCL will do nothing at the next MidWest
Regional meeting. In the future, the decision on
whether to participate will depend on success in finding a
DCL member who is living in the meeting area and is willing
to handle arrangements. Herman Skolnik suggested that
DCL offer plenary speakers. Dr. Stephen Tauber asked
that all suggestions dealing with programs be directed to
Dr.A. E. Petrarca, Program Chairman, prior to the New
York City meeting.
James Perry Memorial
Dr. Hanna Friedenstein suggested that DCL consider
doing something in memory of James Perry, particularly
since he helped found DCL. After considerable discussion,
Dr. Stephen Tauber appointed Dr. Hanna Friedenstein to
handle arrangements for a special talk. A speaker is to be
selected for the fall 1972 ACS meeting, who will address the
subject of James Perry's contributions. Dr. James Rush
asked what was DCL's policy concerning awards. It was
noted that there is no special policy. Dr. Stephen Tauber
noted that awards are something that the Executive Committee
should consider on a "one byone" basis.
Dr. Carlos Bowman suggested that a statement of
sympathy be sent to Mrs. Starker. It was seconded and
unanimously carried. Dr. Stephen Tauber will write to
