Description

From Summary: "A porous wall was used in an attempt to eliminate reflections of oblique waves from a tunnel wall. Calculations were made of the required resistance characteristics of a wall in order that the flow through the wall, due to the pressure difference across a shock wave, would equal the component normal to the wall of the flow behind the shock wave. The resistance characteristic of a sintered bronze wall was measured and the reflections of waves impinging on the wall were observed at a Mach number of 1.62."
