Notes

Abstract: The prevalence of domestic violence is greater than most people realize. Rates appear to be lower in rural areas. However, lower rates may mask under-reporting. Even if the reported rates are accurate, the prevalence of violence against women is too high. Models of prevention and intervention specific to rural health care settings are discussed.
