financing; 72.2% implemented plans by-
requesting school application forms;
(c) planning for the remote future:
majority expressed preference for level or
position, nursing specialty, employment
location, career pattern, and post-graduate
education;
(d) specificity of information: 47.7% had
heard of four nursing education program types
prior to the survey; 17.3% were informed regarding
monetary rewards in nursing. The majority were
inferred to have information about entry oppor-
tunities. Seven factors pertaining to each
category (occupational information—training and
education—and extensiveness of information) were
highly helpful (76.0% to 100.0%) for determining
program preference.
Variations between ethnic and socioeconomic groups
(all indices) and preferrers of nursing education program
(indices b, c, d) were identified.
In conclusion, nearly three-fourths had reached Super's
developmental task, implementation, seemingly influenced by
the health occupation courses. Recommendations concerned
replication research, focused recrutiment strategies, and
improved health occupation course development.
