  • Content Description: Photograph of the Administration Building and the McConnell Memorial Tower at North Texas. The clock tower is seen from the north-east, looking towards the south-west, giving a view of part of the front of the Administration Building. The tower was dedicated December 15, 1956 and named in honor of W. Joseph McConnell, President of North Texas State Teachers College from 1934 to 1951. The tower is the central portion of the Administration Building, which was constructed in 1956, and in 2002 was renamed the Hurley Administration Building in honor of retiring Chancellor and former President of UNT Dr. Alfred F. Hurley. The photograph was taken after 1974, probably in the 1970s or 1980s.
