Description

Leonard Feather interviews Charlie Parker, with mention of a recent trip to Europe (11 days in Scandinavia, 4 days in Paris, matching discographical records for late November 1950) and discussion about Reinhold Svenson; Feather asks Parker about the controversy about Cab Calloway's article in the February, 1951 issue of Ebony Magazine, titled "Is Dope Killing Our Musicians?" (pages 22-28). Musical excerpts ("Blue and Moody" and "Dearly Beloved") are "telescoped" (that is, truncated so that only the beginning and end remain).
