Land of the Living

Artist statement from MFA Exhibition: "In my practice, I craft vibrant works as windows to utopian realms, inviting viewers to transcend the everyday. By intertwining ordinary spaces and imagined realms, I capture the essence of an idealized location, offering a shift in our perspective of the environments around us. Figures and objects within these places undergo transformative journeys, fostering intimate dialogues within the captured space. Through sculptures, paintings, and drawings, the forms converge, blurring boundaries between familiar and unfamiliar. Each piece celebrates the entanglement of human experience, memory and a desired world. These paintings, sculptures, and installations become a collection of lived experiences that ignite hopefulness and expectancy within the intersection of real life and an anticipated world"
