Abstract: This project was intended to be a proof-of-concept project to discover how the Music Library can implement Music Encoding Initiative (MEI) protocols to increase the discovery, analysis, and use of scores from the Music Special Collections at UNT. The goal of the project was to lay the groundwork to seek future external funding for a larger-scale project to create an MEI-based complete edition of the works of Jean-Baptiste Lully (1632-1687), by establishing training, workflows, and assessing the time and labor required to complete a given unit of encoding.
