Description

Audio cassette from the NaDeane Walker Anderson collection. In the first clip of the audio, Congressman Jim Mattox talks about his various political, social, and religious viewpoints, his opinions on the state of legislation, and issues such as tax reform, lobby control, full financial disclosure, open records, and elections. Mattox also discusses his career history and objectives regarding budget policies and processes, involvement with the Democratic Caucus, and passing legislation directed at issues such as social security, foreign affairs in Uganda, and banks. Lastly, Mattox shares his opinions on social issues such as birth rates. In the second clip, Mattox discusses work-life balance, his opinions on President Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush, anecdotes about helping people, and his thoughts on organizational support and endorsements. NaDeane can be heard throughout both clips.
