Notes
Revision of Farmers' bulletin 889, which is superseded by this edition. The author, Rob Slocum, resigned from the USDA in 1921. This bulletin was revised by Alfred R. Lee and issued in May 1923.
The bulletin was reprinted with changes in 1924. The reprint is missing pages 19-22 of the original edition. The table of contents, however, does not reflect this change.
This pamphlet is part of the following collections of related materials.
Government Documents A to Z Digitization Project
An ongoing project, A-to-Z encompasses U.S. federal government documents published prior to 1960. We are digitizing the documents alphabetically, starting with the call number A, which includes agricultural documents. By popular demand, the A-to-Z Collection also contains vintage War Department field manuals and technical manuals.
The United States Department of Agriculture Farmers' Bulletins were produced to disseminate information about agricultural topics. This collection includes bulletins published between the 1880's and the 1980's.
