I would like to thank my research advisor, Dr. Amy Murrell, for her endless guidance and
support on this project. She helped foster my growth as a researcher and reinforced my critical
thinking. I would also like to thank my committee members, Drs. Randall J. Cox, and Camilo
Ruggero, for their flexibility, time, feedback and guidance throughout this study.
I would also like to thank my "labbies" who worked hard to help me collect data, make
edits to my thesis, understand SPSS output, and their never-ending support and encouragement
throughout this process. A special thanks goes to Aditi Sinha, Jonathan Schmalz, Teresa Hulsey,
