MM Docket No. 86-200 Chief, Allocations Branch
Policy and Rules Division
In the Matter of Mass Media Bureau
Amendment of Section 73.202(b), RM-5239
Table of Allotments,
FM Broadcast Stations
(Lone Grove, Oklahoma)
REPORT AND ORDER
Adopted. November 18, 1986 Released: December 24, 1986
By the Chief, Allocations Branch:
1. The Commission has before it the Notice of Proposed
Rule Making. 51 FR 19864, published June 3. 1986,
proposing the allocation of Channel 294A to Lone Grove,
Oklahoma, as the community's first local FM service, at
the request of SSS Communications, Inc. ("petitioner").
Petitioner filed comments supporting the allotment and
reiterating its intention to apply for the channel, if allocated.
No other comments were received.
2. Channel 294A can be allocated in compliance with
the Commission's mileage separation requirements with a
site restriction of at least 6.7 kilometers (4.2 miles) north
to avoid a short-spacing to Channel 293A at Muenster,
Texas. We believe the public interest would be served by
allocating the channel since it could provide Lone Grove
with its first local FM service.
3. Accordingly, pursuant to the authority contained in
Sections 4(i), 5(c) (1), 303(g) and (r) and 307(b) of the
Communications Act of 1934, as amended, and Sections
0.61, 0.204 and 0.283 of the Commission's Rules, IT IS
ORDERED, That effective February 6, 1987, the FM
Table of Allotments, Section 73.202(b) of the Rules, IS
AMENDED, with respect to the community listed below,
to read as follows:
City Channel No.
Lone Grove, Oklahoma 294A
4. The period for filing applications will open on February
9, 1987. and close on March 9, 1987.
5. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, That this proceeding
