DEAR Non 'Ju ti Q n to% Q) b'nK;
I AM WRITING THIS LETTER TO EXPLAIN HOW I FEEL ABOUT
CANNON A.F.B. IN CLOVIS NEW MEXICO BEING ON THE BRAC
LIST. CANNON HAS BEEN HERE FOR MANY MANY YEARS AND
HAS BECOME A PART OF CLOVIS. MY FATHER WAS STATIONED
THERE IN THE 50'S AND MY EX HUSBAND AND I WERE THERE IN
THE 80'S AND NOW RESIDE IN CLOVIS. MY FATHER RETIRED
HERE ALSO SO HE COULD BE IN CLOVIS AND BE HERE IN THE
CANNON AREA. WE ALL DEPEND ON CANNON FOR THE
MEDICAL, THE PHARMACY AND THE BASE EXCHANGE AND
COMMASARY. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE ON A LIMITED INCOME
AND THE COMMASARY SAVES US A LOT OF MONEY.
WE HAVE MANY OF THE BASE PEOPLE THAT COME TO OUR
CHURCH AND ARE VERY ACTIVE IN THE CHURCH. IT WOULD BE
TERRIBLE TO LOSE THEM TO THE BASE CLOSING. ONE OF THE
YOUNG AIRMEN FROM CANNON THAT COMES TO THE CHURCH
IS GIVING MY GRANDSON GUITAR LESSONS AND DOING IT FOR
FREE JUST BE DOING SOMETHING FOR SOMEONE IN THE
CHURCH.
CLOVIS IS FINALLY GROWING AND GETTING SOME OF THE
THINGS THAT WE HAVE WANTED FOR SO LONG. WE NOW HAVE
CHILIS
I HOP
HASTINGS
SUPER WALMART
CHEESE PLANT
HOBBY LOBBY
RED LOBSTER
TO YOU THESE MIGHT NOT SEEM VERY IMPORTANT BUT THESE
ARE PLACES THAT WE STRIVED FOR. WITH THE POPULATION
OF CLOVIS INCLUDING THE A.F.B. IS WHAT GAVE US THE
PEOPLE TO HAVE THESE PLACES COME IN. WE ARE NOW
BUILDING AN APPLE BEES AND THAT HAS TO DO WITH CANNON
BEING HERE ALSO.
