This year the Texas Children's Choir from the Greater San Anto-
nio Area provided our Holiday entertainment. The Choir, under
the direction of Dr. Thomas Hardaway (a Retired Colonel, US
Army Pediatrician and Child Psychologist), provided a sterling
performance of Christmas Music. Passionate about music and
teaching it to children, Dr. Hardaway has trained and directed
children's choirs for more than 40 years. Members, whose ages
range from 8-18, attend local schools.
Nationally, the choir has provided the music for ceremonies com-
memorating D-Day at the National World War II Museum in
New Orleans in 2003 and 2004. They sang for the combined
White House and Department of Defense ceremonies at the Na-
tional Cemetery on Normandy Beach for President Bush and the
First Lady, as well as the French President Chirac on June 6,
2004.
Internationally, they have performed concerts at cathedrals in
England and France. The children sang a special choral and or-
gan concert for the American Ambassador to France and his wife
at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, France. Later, they pre-
sented the "Requiem" in 3 soprano parts by Gabriel Faur6 Nor-
mandy Beach for the French national ceremonies in commemora-
tion of the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. (See Photo at Left)
Also attending were Compatriot Ken Harwood and his wife Syl-
via and little Campbell Baron is his mother Tina Baron.
