This thesis is concerned with an experiment that formed part of the M.I.T. air shower investigations carried out at Harvard University's Agassiz Station, Harvard, Massachusetts. The main purpose of this experiment was the determination of the size (total number of particles) and zenith-angle distribution at sea level of extensive air showers. From this information it is possible to determine with good accuracy the size, orientation, and core location of each shower that was recorded.
