Notes

Abstract: A unique collection assessment tool, the Collection Map, tracks the needs
of academic disciplines and their fulfillment. Documenting the mapping of an expansive
set of subjects to the UNT Libraries’ subject-based collections based upon call
number ranges, the Collection Map links items and their associated data to any one
or more overlapping subject-based collections via Library of Congress call numbers.
Also described are the implementation challenges; measures; and methods used
for assessing holdings, usage, expenditures, future projections, calculation of key
measurements, and performance indicators including use, holdings, and borrowings
to holdings; and integration of the assessment tool into Tableau.
