ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
I would like to thank Dr. Janet Ellis for her support, guidance, mentorship, and
patience throughout graduate school. She has spent much of her valuable time teaching
and shaping my behavior and for this I shall always be thankful. I would also like to
thank Dr. Einar Ingvarsson who in the past year has become another important mentor
as I finish graduate school and start my career as a behavior analyst. Dr. Ingvarsson
has spent much of his time shaping my behavior and providing guidance on being a
competent scientist-practitioner. I would like to thank Sarah Law who took time out of
her busy schedule to score videos of my thesis sessions. Special thanks must go to Duy
Le, Jesse Anderson and all the tutors at the Child Study Center who assisted in
prompting, blocking, and videotaping throughout my thesis. I am in debt to them and
hope to assist them in conducting research as they have assisted me. In particular,
Kristy Duffey spent a lot of time as a third person prompter and blocker. I would like to
thank Dr. Smita Mehta for taking time out of her busy schedule to sit on my committee
and provide a valuable interdisciplinary review of my thesis. Finally, I would like to thank
my family and friends for their support and encouragement throughout my 3- years of
graduate school.iii
