Abstract: As part of accreditation, the University of North Texas chose "Career Connect" [http://careerconnect.unt.edu] as our Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a five-year plan that enhances student learning throughout the university. The plan engages students through action-based experiential learning in the context of communities - public or private sector - in order to develop communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. An exciting component of the QEP is the use of the Connect ePortfolio system that gives students the tools and opportunities to connect their experiences on campus and in their community to showcase the skills they build as they participate in these activities. Beginning Fall 2016, UNT Freshmen were the first group to access and use the Connect e-portfolio. Our First Year Experience (FYE) Librarian provided a library presentation to all incoming freshman during "First Flight" orientations, which took place the week before classes are in session. To support Career Connect, they gave brief information about ePortfolios and promoted the "First Flight" week workshops taught by two other Public Services librarians during all sessions for freshman. Collaborating with the UNT ePortfolio Coordinator, two public service librarians are the University point of contact for all ePortfolio student training. They created a LibGuide, handouts, and routinely conduct hands-on workshops for incoming freshmen. This poster will discuss how librarians are collaborating with faculty, staff, and students across campus to further the goals of the University QEP, and actively seeking to improve students' technological information fluency by providing workshops/training (in person or on online).
