Abstract: The adoption and use of allied 3D technologies continues to proliferate throughout academia as decreased costs and increased ubiquity have significantly lowered their barrier of entry. In addition to offering 3D printing as a service to patrons, libraries are now partnering in cutting-edge projects incorporating 3D scanning and modelling as well as the construction of robust infrastructure and preservation frameworks to manage 3D data in the long term. In this program, librarians and teaching faculty will discuss the exciting opportunities available through this new technology, strategies for successfully initiating a project, and best practices towards ensuring its sustained viability.
