ROSE, MARIE JACQUELINE Born May 30, 1901. Died May 13, 2005 in Dallas, TX..
Marie Jacqueline Landau was born in Paris, France on May 30, 1901. Following
her mother's death from tuberculosis in 1913 and World War I, Jacqueline was
sent to the United States to live with distant relatives in Dallas. Here,
she met Arthur Rose, whom she married, and who preceded her in death. For
forty years she ran a couture millinery shop in downtown Dallas. She later
retired and became an avid oil painter. She was an industrious and fiercely
independent woman who passed away only weeks from her 104th birthday. She is
also preceded in death by her dear brother, Paul Landau, of Paris, France.
Graveside funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, May 15, 2005 in
Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, TX. Rabbi Gerald J. Klein officiated.
