MARIA BELLANCA, soprano, is pursuing her MA in vocal performance at the University
of North Texas, where she studies with Linda Di Fiore. A graduate of The Eastman School
of Music, she performed Tirdsias in Les mamelles de Tirdsias, Judy in This is the Rill
Speaking, and Mrs. Gobineau in The Medium and was the winner of the Ren6e Fleming
Soprano Competition. At UNT, she has performed the title role in Regina, Donna Elvira in
Don Giovanni and covered the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor
CHRISTIAN BESTER, baritone, is pursuing his DMA in vocal performance at the
University of North Texas, where he studies with Linda Di Fiore. This season at UNT, he
performed the title role in Don Giovanni and Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, in addition
to the role of Le Podestat in the Dallas Opera outreach production of Le docteur Miracle.
Originally from Pretoria, South Africa, Mr. Bester made his professional debut as Schaunard
in La boh&me for Pro Musica Theater in South Africa and his European debut in 2010 as
Zaremba in the operetta Polin Blut for the Americke Jaro Festival in the Czech Republic.
SHAUN BROWN, baritone, is pursuing a DMA in vocal performance at the University of
North Texas, where he studies with Stephen Austin. A native of Brisbane, Australia, Brown
studied at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University, where he performed
Donald in the Australian premiere of Billy Budd. In addition, he performed the title role
in Elijah - the Opera, for the Brisbane Biennial and numerous roles for the Lyric Opera of
Queensland. He is the recipient of the inaugural Lord Mayor's Performing Arts Fellowship,
the Italian Opera Award, and was the winner of the Joan Sutherland Vocal Competition.
SERGIO CEPEDA, tenor, is pursuing an artist certificate at the University of North
Texas, where he studies with Inci Bashar and Jeffrey Snider. He received his MA in vocal
performance at Texas Christian University, where he performed the Beast in Giannini's
Beauty and the Beast, Larry/Matt in Face on the Barroom Floor, and Tamino in Die
Zauberflite. Mr. Cepeda has also covered the role of Rodolfo in La bohime at the Natchez
Opera Festival and Nanki-Poo in The Mikado at Fort Worth Opera. This season at UNT he
performed the roles of Normanno in Lucia di Lammermoor and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni.
