From Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Seth Wollam is a passionate, dedicated musician and
educator. He has taught students of all ages as well as adults, and has continued to be
an active performer, leader, and advocate. He holds a bachelor of music degree from
Youngstown State University where he studied conducting with Steve Gage and John
Venesky, and saxophone with James Umble and Mike Hanson. He was awarded the master
of arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, studying wind conducting with Jack
Stamp. He is currently a doctoral conducting associate at the University of North Texas,
studying with Eugene Migliaro Corporon. Additionally, he is associate conductor of the UNT
Brass Band and on staff with the Green Brigade Marching Band. He has performed with
numerous groups including the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra, Grand Junction Symphony
Orchestra, Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra, Trinity Jazz Ensemble, and Keystone Wind
Ensemble. Under his direction, his ensembles have been recognized at local, state, and
national festivals for their superior performances. Under his direction, the Grand Junction
High School Wind Ensemble was invited regularly to perform at the prestigious Colorado
Bandmasters Association State Concert Band Festival. He also served as co-director of the
Grand Junction Centennial Band in Grand Junction, Colorado. He holds memberships in
MENC, the National Band Association, and Phi Mu Alpha.
