BILLY McCARTNEY (Filch), from Denton, is a senior theatre major at Oklahoma City
University where he has performed the roles of Paul Zara in Farragut North, Marcad6 in
Love's Labour's Lost, Perfidy in Raskol, E. K. Hornbeck in Inherit the Wind, and Ghost of
Christmas Present in A Christmas Carol. Last year, he performed the roles of Dennis and
Lord in As You Like It with Shakespeare Dallas. With UNT Opera, he performed the roles
of Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Rapunzel's Prince in Into the Woods; he also
appeared in Alcina and Cosi fan tutte.
DAGNY McCARTNEY (Jenny), from Denton, is an entering freshman theatre major at
Oklahoma City University. She is a graduate of Guyer High School, where she performed
the roles of Roxie Hart in Chicago, Agnes in Dancing atLughnasa, Rita in White Christmas,
and Ostrich and Indian in Peter Pan. She also appeared in the UNT summer opera workshop
productions of Alcina, Into the Woods, Cosi fan tutte, and L 'elisir d'amore.
TRAVIS WILEY McGUIRE (Jackie Brown) is a 1 year DMA vocal performance major
studying with Stephen Morscheck. He is from Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Southern
Methodist University with an M.M. in voice performance, where he performed the roles
of The Learned Judge in Trial By Jury, Alcindoro in La boheme and Grandpa Moss in The
Tender Land. He received B.A. degrees in music and biblical text from Abilene Christian
University, where he performed the roles of Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, Gianni Schicchi,
and Frank Maurrant in Street Scene. He also sang with the Abilene Opera Association as
the Imperial Registrar in Madama Butterfly, Sonora in La Fanciulla del West, and Smee
in Peter Pan. He also appeared as Prison Warden Frank in Abilene Tri-Collegiate Opera's
Die Fledermaus. He has participated in OperaWorks! He appeared in The Dallas Opera
Chorus in the production of Boris Godunov and will continue this season in the choruses
of Lucia di Lammermoor, Tristan und Isolde, and Die Zauberfldte. This season at UNT he
performed the role of Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni. He is currently working as the
minister of music at Walnut Hill Church of Christ and as an adjunct instructor of voice at
Texas A&M University-Commerce.
MARY MULKEY (Dolly), from Flower Mound, Texas, is a freshman at Marcus High
School. Last summer she performed in UNT Opera's summer workshop production ofAlcina.
MAGDA LYSETTE ORTIZ (Old Whore), from San Antonio, Texas, is a junior linguistics
major. She is also pursuing a minor in music. She is a former member of UNT Concert
Choir. With UNT Opera last year she performed in Lucia di Lammermoor and in the Opera
without Elephants production of scenes by Jake Heggie.
