ELIZABETH KING (Stage Director) is an adjunt professor in the Theatre Department at
Texas Wesleyan University, where she is a studio voice teacher, has taught integrated arts
curriculum and musical theatre classes, and served as stage director for the recent production
of Sweeney Todd. She was also music director for Cabaret at Texas Wesleyan. At UNT,
she directed the following summer opera workshop productions: Le nozze di Figaro, Cosi
fan tutte, Die ZauberflOte, Cendrillon, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, Into the Woods,
and Alcina. As director of education and outreach for Knoxville Opera, she produced and
directed productions of La serva padrona and Hansel and Gretel.
TIMOTHY KING (Smith), from Valdosta, Georgia, is the building manager for UNT's
Murchison Performing Arts Center. At Valdosta State University, he performed in productions
of A Raisin in the Sun (as Walter, Jr.) and Fences. He performed in Showboat with Music
Theatre of Denton. He was also costume and set designer for the UNT summer opera
workshop production of The Magic Flute. Recently, he performed in the Angel Band in
UNT Opera's award-winning production of Regina.
KRISTY LIANG (Lucy), from Coppell, Texas, is an entering freshman business major
at the University of Texas at Austin. She performed in the UNT summer opera workshop
productions of L 'elisir d'amore, Alcina, and Cosi fan tutte.
CARLY LORD (Lighting Designer) is a senior general studies major from McAllen, Texas.
For the past four years, she has served as a stage manager for the Murchison Performing
Arts Center. Her numerous theatrical credits include: lighting assistant for Showboat at
the Irving Arts Center; lighting designer for Sleeping Beauty with Dallas Ballet; and stage
manager for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Plano Community Theater.
TESS MATTINGLY (Stage Manager) is from Jacksonville, Florida. She is a graduate of
Florida State University, where she performed as Peep Bo in The Mikado, Amor in Orfeo
edEuridice, and Lola in Gallantry. She also performed the role of Hope in Urinetown with
Players by the Sea. At UNT, where she received a master's degree in vocal performance,
she performed the roles of Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Sophie in Werther, Morgana in
Alcina, and Rapunzel in Into the Woods. She appeared as soloist with the Tallahassee Sym-
phony in Vivaldi's Gloria and with the Tallahassee Community Chorus in Haydn's Creation.
She also soloed with Voices of Music, the San Francisco Early Music Society, and Pacific
Musicworks, and performed in the chorus of Before Night Falls with Fort Worth Opera.
She has been a member of Seraphic Fire and the South Dakota Chorale. She was a winner
of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition. Last year, she won
the Voices of Music Young Artists Competition.
