Claire Salz is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of North Texas. A student of Dr. Charles
Veazey, she received her Master of Music in oboe performance from the University of North Texas in 2008.
Claire has been performing baroque oboe since 2006, studying with Katherine Montoya, Washington
McClain, Gonzalo Ruiz and Sara Funkhouser. Her performance affiliations include the Denton Bach
Society and the University of North Texas Collegium.
Eric Smith maintains an active performing career on baroque cello and viola da gamba, appearing with
period instrument ensembles, festivals, and choirs throughout the US and abroad. He collaborates with
ensembles including the Dallas Bach Society, Orchestra of New Spain, Ars Lyrica, Bach Society of
Houston, La Novella Baroque, Texas Early Music Project, Denton Bach Society, and the Denton Bach
Players. He has performed at the American Renaissance and Baroque Music Festival (Bolivia) and the
Boston Early Music Festival, has given guest artist recitals at the Crested Butte Music Festival, Lake
Lewisville International Chamber Music Series, and Bechstein Hall Concert Series, and was an artist-in-
residence at the Strings in the Mountains Music Festival for two seasons. Eric attended the University of
North Texas as a Winspear Scholar where he studied under the tutelage of Eugene Osadchy. He has also
studied baroque cello with Phoebe Carrai and viola da gamba with Mary Springfels.
Janelle West, flute, holds Master's degrees in flute performance and library science from the University of
North Texas, where she is a Music Catalog Librarian at the UNT Music Library. Ms. West has performed
with the Orchestra of New Spain and the Dallas Bach Society, as well as other Dallas area early music
