Description

10 CFR 20 and 40 CFR 190 impose tight restrictions on the releases of radioactive materials from the fuel cycle. Retention factors needed in the LMFBR and LWR fuel cycles to meet the 40 CFR 190 release limits of /sup 85/Kr, /sup 129/I, and /sup 239/Pu are listed. Technologies for the control of I, /sup 85/Kr, and tritium are discussed. Advanced effluent control systems will be demonstrated in the Hot Experimental Facility. (DLC)
